Sherry "Sue" L. Mautz, 76, of Newark, Ohio died Monday morning, July 10, 2023 at the Laurels of Heath Nursing Home.

Born January 11, 1947 in Zanesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Dale L. (Kirkpatrick) Cannon, Sr.  Sherry was Baptist by faith and a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Newark.  She enjoyed walking, biking, and keeping a clean house.  Sherry liked to head to McDonalds for coffee before heading to the mall to walk, but what she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family.

Surviving is her husband, John H. Mautz whom she married March 12, 2005; one son, John Thomas George of Bladensburg, Ohio; one daughter, Terry Martin of Newark; three step children, Jeff (Kenna) Mautz of Somerset, Nancy Mautz of Newark and Sharon (Rob) McCord of Thornville; two grandchildren, Crysta Davis and David (Chelsea) McClain; two great grandchildren, Adalynn McClain and Leighton Stephens; three brothers, Rudy Cannon, George Cannon and Barry Cannon; two sisters, Kathi Cannon and Becky Cannon and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister in-law, Robert "Bob" (Beverly) Cannon.

Calling hours will be 10am to NOON Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 12:00pm, Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor Troy Kahlar officiating.  Burial will follow in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
