Sharon Lou Chapman Tannehill, 78, of Parma Heights, Ohio, formerly of Nashport, Ohio died Tuesday evening, May 3, 2022 at University Hospital in Parma, Ohio.
Born April 21, 1944 in Mineral Wells, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Allen W. "Chippy" and Flora "Faye" (Marsden) Chapman. Sharon was a 1962 graduate of Frazeysburg High School and she received an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Cuyahoga Community College. She was a pre-school teacher for 15 years and later worked in retail sales for 10 years. Sharon was a long-time member of the Ridgewood United Methodist Church of Parma and she enjoyed traveling, reading and being with her family.
Surviving is her loving husband of 58 years, James E. Tannehill whom she married January 25, 1964; two sons, Brian Tannehill of Parma Heights and Rick (Sylvia) Tannehill of Brunswick, Ohio; one daughter, Tracy Lynn (Joshua Tokich) Tannehill of Independence, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Alex and Kyle Tannehill, Jamison and Averi Tokich. Also surviving are three brothers, Larry (Louie) Chapman of Brock Texas, Robert (Kimberly) Chapman of Newark, Ohio and James Chapman of Lee Summit, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Chapman.
Calling hours will be for one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be at NOON Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Sharon will be laid to rest in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
