A funeral service celebrating the life of Sandy R. Ford, 47 of Newark will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Church of God of Licking County with her brother, Tim Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Sandy died Tuesday evening, January 20, 2009 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born October 6, 1961 to E. A. and Opal M. (Smith) Wilson. Sandy was a homemaker; and a member of the Church of God. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Fred Ford, whom she married December 3, 1993; a daughter, Jessica (Delvin) Bailey of Newark; two sons, Joshua Abbott and Jeffrey Abbott, both of Newark; a sister, Susan (Darrell) Wolfe of Newark; brothers, Tom (Rose) Wilson of Frazeysburg, Pete (Millie) Wilson of Newark, Tim (Debbie) Wilson of Sylacauga, Ala., and Terry and (Rose) Wilson of Newark; grandchildren, Delvin Emerson-Todd Bailey, Julia Mae Bailey, and Charlee Ruth Abbott; and several nieces and nephews. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Pastor E. A. Wilson. Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Church of God of Licking County, 2181 Riggs Road, Newark.
