FRAZEYSBURG â?? Ruth J. Minnich, 93, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Saturday evening, January 9, 2010 at Willow Haven Nursing Home, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born June 29, 1916 in Frazeysburg she was a 1934 graduate of Frazeysburg High School and a 1936 graduate of Muskingum College, earning her degree in education. Mrs. Minnich retired in 1979 after 38 years of teaching. Her first year was at Shannon School where she taught all eight grades. Her second year was at Clark School and then she taught eight years at Frazeysburg School. She finished her teaching career with 28 years of service at Toboso School in the Licking Valley School District. Mrs. Minnich was a member of the Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church; Olive Branch Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star; Muskingum County Retired Teachers Association and a life member of Ohio Retired Teachers Association. Ruth enjoyed traveling and had traveled world-wide, visiting all the European countries as well as Africa, India, Russia, Japan, China, South America and many other countries.
Surviving is one son and daughter in-law, Kenneth F. and Kay Minnich of Zanesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Minnich, whom she married March 5, 1937 and who died January 23, 1971.
There will be no calling hours and private funeral services will be conducted. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
