Ruth Ann Hastings, 66, of Adamsville, died Friday morning, December 1, 2023, at The Beckett House, New Concord.

Born December 23, 1956, in Zanesville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late George G. and Mildred M. (Holmes) Lowry and a 1974 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.  Ruth was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed watching birds, gardening at her home, and reading books.

Surviving is her husband of 36 years, Stanley N. Hastings Sr., whom she married, October 10, 1987; a daughter, Carrie (Rick Shoop) Hastings; a son, Stanley N. Hastings Jr.; eight grandchildren, Ronnie Jr., Robbie, Chase, Korianna, Evylynne, Jeanna, Drax and Kriz; seven siblings, Betty (Rick) Farmer, Deborah Riggs, Donna Shuley, Linda (Stan) Pride, Janice (Gregory) Matthews, Richard (Joanna) Lowry and Darren Lowry; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three siblings, Gary Lowry, John Lowry, and Marilyn Haynes.

Friends and family may call Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 4:00-7:00pm at The Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street, Dresden.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the funeral home with Pastor   Jeff Belt officiating.

Ruth will be laid to rest at Adamsville Baptist Cemetery, Adamsville.
