A celebration of Life Service for Ruth E. Flowers, 90 of Kirkersville will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street with Rev. Dr. Amanda Olson officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be observed from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Ruth passed away October 12, 2023 at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center following a short illness. She was born August 14, 1933 in Muskingum County to Herbert L. and Genevieve (Noland) Fairall.

Survivors include her children, Larry (Patty) Flowers of Canal Winchester, Randy (Susie) Flowers of Reynoldsburg, Linda Flowers and Henry of Kirkersville; grandchildren, Amanda (Don) Olson, Kiley (Todd) Menvielle, Stacey (Mike) Heffelfinger, Lindsey (Jay) Hilemen, Shawn (Carol) Flowers, Shannon Flowers, Troy Allen, Trevor Flowers, Kristen (Keith) Loughry; great-grandchildren, Ben, Elise, Ryan, Chase, Abi, Tristan, Annabelle, Alex, Chris, Ray, Gabe, Eli, Sofie; great-great-grandchildren, Victoria, Samantha; daughter-in-law, Debbie Flowers; son-in-law, Randy Gard; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Flowers; daughter, Betty Gard; son, Terry Flowers; siblings, Eugene Fairall, Kenneth Fairall, Irene Coverdale, Gleneva Commeans.

She was a former member of the Nashport United Methodist Church, she was involved with the Watkins Memorial Mother's Club, she was a member of the Etna Grange and participated with Lions Club activities.

Her life was devoted to her family. She was recognized for her A Plus hospitality. She was an extra ordinary homemaker. She excelled in gardening, canning, baking, cooking, she was especially known for her Ruth's Ice Tea and her homemade jelly! Ruth loved to sit on her front porch watching the hummingbirds and deer.

She was an avid sports fan for OSU, Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and Watkins Warriors. The family requests guests wear Ruth's favorite team garments or colors.
