Obituary

Russell Ragor, 97, of Nashport, Ohio died Saturday morning, September 6, 2014 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born June 2, 1917 in Pleasant Valley, Ohio he was a son of the late Wilbert H. and Bertha (Dilley) Ragor. He was a retired truck driver having worked for Humes Transfer of Stubenville, Ohio and later, H. & S. Trucking. For many years he owned and operated Ragor's Hydraulic Jack Repair Service at Nashport.

Russell was very active in the Masonic Lodge and had been a member of Irville Lodge #184, F. & A. M. for nearly 73 years and served as the Lodge Tyler for over 30 years. He was well known throughout the 18th Masonic District as he traveled and visited all of the lodges. He was also a member of Zanesville Chapter #9, R. A. M. and Zanesville Council #12, R. & S. M. and had received his 70 year pin in each organization.

Surviving is one daughter, Marsha Kelly of Duncan Falls, Ohio; three grandchildren, Russell (Kimberly) Kelly of Morrison, Colorado, Nannette (Michael) Lashley of Delaware, Ohio and Jeanette (Daniel) Kebede of Bothell, Washington; five great grandchildren, Katie, Shane, Jesse, Sabina and Kaelyn; seven nieces and nephews, Dwight Ragor, Pamela Passick, Mark Ragor, Ronald Ragor, Edwin Kreis, David Kreis and Maxine Grooms and his very close friends, Warren and Janet Baker of Frazeysburg.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Lyman Dean Ragor; a sister, Imogene Kreis; and his son in-law, Daniel Kelly.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Irville Lodge #184, F. & A. M. will conduct Masonic services at 8pm Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Irville Cemetery at Nashport.
