Russell L. Newell, 69, of Dresden, died at 5AM Thursday February 20,2003 at Morrison House Hospice. Mr. Newell was born February 14, 1934 in Muskingum County, a son of the late Paul and Ada (Richardson) Newell. He was retired from United Technologies in Zanesville after 47 years service and had served in the Army Reserve for six years. Surviving are his daughter, Alicia Newell of Dresden, sister, Lois Ann (Ronald) Radcliffe of Torrance, Calif., and two sisters in law, Janet Vickers and Louise Newell and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Y. Newell, whom he married August 6, 1957 on June 23, 2000 and a brother, Chauncy Newell. Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9PM Saturday February 22, 2003 at the Vensil-Orr&Chute Funeral Home in Dresden, where services will be held at 2PM Sunday with Pastor Andy Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
