FRAZEYSBURG ? Rudolph Lynn Smyers, Sr., 72, of 18555 County Road #3, Warsaw, Ohio, died at 7:17am Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Born September 22, 1930 in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Rudolph J. and Laura J. (Moore) Smyers and was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1992 as a master mechanic with the Operating Engineers District #18 of Akron. Mr. Smyers was a member of Branch United Methodist Church, VFW Post 2040 of Coshocton, and Heath Eagles #3723 and was an avid bowler. Surviving is his wife, Mildred (Dickerson) (Berry) Smyers, whom he married December 11, 1970; two sons, Rudolph L. ?Bud? Smyers, Jr. of North Carolina and David (Sara) Berry of West Carlisle, Ohio; four daughters, Laura Ann Evans of Akron, Ohio, Pat (George) Locke of Hanover, Ohio, Cathy (Kenny) Jenkins of Frazeysburg, Ohio and Karen Berry of Zanesville, Ohio; one sister, Dawna Deen of Wadsworth, Ohio; a very special friend, Tess Caley of Zanesville; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Calling hours will be 5 to 8pm Monday, July 21, 2003 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg. Funeral services will be 1:30pm Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at the funeral. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
