Roy Curtis, 60, of Trinway, died at 8:40PM Saturday June 24, 2006 at Autumn HealthCare in Coshocton. Mr. Curtis was born November 13, 1945 in Zanesville, a son of Gerald ?Jerry? and Virginia I. (Fowler) Curtis. A Vietnam War veteran, Mr. Curtis had served in the US Navy and was a member of Charles M. Mitchell American Legion Post #399. He had worked as an operating engineer on road construction. Mr. Curtis had helped operate the family business, Curtis Shoe Store on Main Street in Dresden and also was a sign painter and enjoyed homing pigeon clubs. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing with his family and grandson. Surviving are his wife, Vera (Kuhn) Curtis whom he married May 24, 1970, a daughter, Shannon (Mike) Smith of Trinway, a brother, Lance (Lynn) Curtis of Adamsville, two sisters, Beverly (Tyrone) Kirk of Frazeysburg, Shirley (Charles) Vickers of Dresden, three grandchildren, Kyle Graves, Kaydn Graves, Lainey Smith, special friends, Donny and Mary King of Trinway and Jerry Wilbur of Dresden and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, a son, Shawn Curtis in 1998 and a brother Mark Curtis in 1975 preceded him in death. Friends may call 6-8PM Friday June 30, 2006 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home where services will be held on Saturday July 1, 2006 at 11AM with Pastor Sharon Williamson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Coshocton or the Animal Shelter; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
