Obituary

NEWARK: Rosemary (Baumgartner) Ratliff, 74 of Newark passed away December 4, 2009 at Licking Memorial Hospital following a brief but valiant battle with cancer. Rosemary was born in Newark, January 9, 1935 to Esther (Inlow) and the late Joseph Baumgartner. Rosemary was a graduate of Newark High School. She worked at the Newark Telephone Company for many years. She lived and worked in Pasadena, California for 18 years before returning to Newark. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed watching cooking shows. One of her passions was classic movies; and she was the family champion of movie trivia. In addition to her mother, Esther, she is survived by brothers, James ?Bummie? Baumgartner of Gaysport, Gerald ?Skip? (Neva) Baumgartner of Newark; sisters, Linda (Kenneth) Rhodes of Mt. Dora, Fla., and Janet (Monte) Nagy of Newark; sisters in-law, Shirley Baumgartner, Thelma (Charles) Miller, and Dorothy (Gene) Quick, all of Newark; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband John Ratliff, Jr.; and brothers, Don, Jack and Joe Baumgartner, Jr. Friends and family may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
