Obituary

Rosan Echelberry, 69, of Adamsville, Ohio passed from this life to the next Sunday morning, May 31, 2015 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, surrounded by her loving family. Rosan was a pioneer in the fight for a cure for cancer as she survived 19 years of Multiple Myeloma. Her strong faith and loving spirit made her a hero to all who knew her.
Born April 3, 1946 in Zanesville, she was the fourth child of six born to the late Ralph L. and Jessie May (Gibson) Bowden and was a 1964 graduate of Adamsville High School. Rosan had several different jobs through the years, retiring from Longaberger Baskets. She was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church and she had a passion for genealogy. She loved history was the family and Salem Church historian and had written papers for several libraries. She also loved sewing.
Rosan is survived by her three daughters, Kimberly (Ron) Madden of Zanesville, Kristina (Jerry) Rochowiak of Temperance, Michigan and Kelly (Shawn) Lasko of Senecaville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob and Mikala Madden, Isabel and Isaac Rochowiak, Hayden, Layken and Emeri Jo Lasko; one brother, Carson (Chip) Bowden of Dover, North Carolina; three sisters, Linda Potirus of Streamwood, Illinois, Betty (Veri) Stockton and Wilda (Robert) Chaney, both of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special genealogical and longtime family friend, Ruby Gormsen of Strongsville, Ohio.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Emerson Echelberry whom she married November 7, 1970 and who died April 9, 2013; one precious granddaughter, Jessie May Madden and a brother, Leroy O. Bowden.
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Salem United Methodist Church, Norfield Road at Salem Church Road.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Roger Morrow and Mr. Wayne Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Heaven's Gate Cemetery, Adamsville.
