Funeral services for Rosalie C. ?Pepper? Culpepper, 65 of Newark will be held Thursday February 23, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 383 Washington Street with Rev. Dr. Charles W. Noble officiating. Mrs. Culpepper died Saturday February 18, 2006 at the Flintridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 31, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Howard Dew and Maggie (Spencer) Hawkins of Detroit, MI. She retired as a corrections officer from the Ohio Department of Corrections in May of 2004. She was formerly employed by Owens Corning and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Survivors include her mother; sons, David Halsell of West Covina, Ca., Craig (Lisa) Culpepper of Grand Rapids, MI.; sister, Lydia Gordon of Detroit, MI.; brothers, Roy (Ursula) Gordon of Newark, John Flowers of Lexington, KY.; grandchildren, Shannon, Destiny, Isaiah, Chasity, Craig, Randall, Cruv, Shanisha, Shannon, Rebecca, Donte, Jarvis, Erica and Shaniqua; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Judy Brown, John & Pat Brown and Kevin Scott. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Marcia Matthews in December 1985. Calling hours will be observed Thursday from noon till service time at the church 383 Washington Street.
