Ronzal C. King, Sr., 79, formerly of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Wednesday morning, December 27, 2023 at his residence, The Courtyard at Newark.

Born June 7, 1944 in Grantsville, West Virginia, where everyone knew him by his nickname, "Chalk", he was a son of the late Otha & Amy Lulu (Queen) King and a graduate of West Virginia State and Ohio University where he earned his bachelor's degree in health and education.  Ronzal was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was known to make his own fishing lures that were guaranteed to catch big fish.  He also spent time collecting baseball cards, football cards and coins.  Ronzal was a superfan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds but what he enjoyed the most was his family.

Surviving is the love of his life, Linda P. (Martin) King whom he married June 12, 1965; son, Ronzal (Angel) King, Jr. of Dresden; daughter Leah (Pat) Runyan of Columbus; four grandchildren, Courtney (Grant) Warren of Heath, Katie King of Worthington, Lilly (Brian Mayo) Runyan of Columbus and Cianna Runyan of Columbus; one great grandchild on the way; two brothers, Ernest (Verlis) King and Gary (Karen) King; three sisters, Jean (Wayne) Houck, Joanne (Dave Edwards) King, Jeannette (Dwaine) Peterman; sister in-Law, Carolyn King; brother in-law, Joseph Sims and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl King and two sisters, Joyce Sims, and Janice King.

Friends and family may call Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 1pm to 3pm at the Frazeysburg chapel of Vensil and Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 3:00PM Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.
