A funeral service for Rev. Ronald L. Chrisley, 68 of Newark will be held Saturday November 29, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church 10 N. Cedar Street Newark with Rev. Sue Ellen Miller, Newark District Superintendent officiating. Burial will follow in Croton Cemetery.Rev. Chrisley died Wednesday November 26, 2003 at his residence. He was born August 10, 1935 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Harless and Dorothy Jean (Ansel) Chrisley. He is survived by his wife, Vivian B. ?Vickie? (Huffman) Chrisley, whom he married Feb. 14, 1977; children, Kelsey Chrisley and Rev. Hillary Chrisley of California, Dr. Ronald L. Chrisley of England, Michael Barnett, Megan Anderson, Jenneca Chrisley, Jamie Chrisley, Jacob Chrisley, Jonathan Chrisley, MacKenzie Chrisley all of Newark; grandchildren, Miranda, Malyn, Mariah, Coleman; brother, James (Karen) Chrisley, of Illinois; sisters, Carole (William) Dillehay, of Florida and Christine Harr of Columbus.Rev. Chrisley, a Captain in the U. S. Air Force during Vietnam, served fourteen years as a navigator and received the Distinguished Flying Cross.Rev. Chrisley retired in 2002 from the West Ohio Conference United Methodist Church with 30 years service. He had served United Methodist Churches in Lockbourne, South Bloomfield, Croton, Zanesville, Pasco-Pemberton, Mt. Sterling, Epworth in Lima, First Church in Springboro, Church of the Good Shepherd in North Baltimore, Leipsic and Christ United Methodist in Newark.He was an avid reader and a man of many talents.Calling hours will be observed Friday November 28, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street Newark, Ohio.
