Obituary
Ronald L. Bishop, 71, of Nashport, Ohio died Saturday evening, July 1, 2017 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.
Born January 20, 1946 in Zanesville, Ohio he was the son of the late Roy E. and Mary E. (Brewer) Bishop Dowell. Ronald was a retired heavy equipment operator in the oil industry, working for several different companies over the years. He was a member of the Zanesville First Church of God and he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He also enjoyed doing mechanical work and helping his brother in-law build stock cars. He especially enjoyed doing things with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 45 years, Catherine E. (Staggers) Bishop whom he married December 24, 1971; two sons, Shawn (Sherry) Bishop of Graford, Texas and Ronnie (Judy) Bishop of Nashport; three grandchildren, Alex Bishop, Sarah Jo Bishop and Justin Wilson; a sister Donna (Gary) Doyle of Nashport and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 10am to 1pm Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery near Nashport.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.
