Obituary

Roger L. "Pete" Vickers, 74, of Dresden, Ohio died Monday evening, June 15, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 10, 1940 in Zanesville, Ohio he was a son of the late Donald and Evelyn (Pritchard) Vickers and was a 1960 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. He was an Army veteran serving during the Viet Nam Era and he was a retired millwright from Rockwell International of Heath, Ohio. Mr. Vickers was a member of the Trinway United Methodist Church. He was a former little league baseball coach in Dresden and he enjoyed woodworking, he loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and he loved to fish.
Surviving is his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon S. (King) Vickers whom he married December 30, 1960; four sons, Craig (Aletha) Vickers, Randy Vickers and David (Kaci) Vickers, all of Dresden and Bill (Tonya) Vickers of Frazeysburg; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Jessica, Damien, Wyatt, Kaiden, Kim, Missy, Ethan and Collin; five great grandchildren, Colton, Keaton, Kyle, Landon and Logan; two brothers, Donald Vickers of Coshocton, Ohio and Charles (Shirley) Vickers of Wakatomika, Ohio; a brother in-law, Jack Black of Dresden; a sister in-law, Janet Vickers of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Bower and her husband, Don Bower; a sister, Judy Black; a brother, Dick Vickers and a sister in-law, Evelyn Vickers.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, June 19, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Sharon Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
