Rodney William "Bill" King, 82, of Frazeysburg, died Friday morning, July 5, 2024, at his home.
Born January 8, 1942, in Wooster, Ohio, he was a son of Rodney C. & Betty Jean (Wiles) King and a 1960 graduate of Jefferson High School. Bill retired from Peabody Coal after 23 years of service where he ran the run drag line and worked as a barber for 62 years. He was a member of the Meadow View Church of Christ, Cass township trustee for eight years and a past volunteer for the Dresden Fire Department. Bill was an avid OSU Football fan and enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing and hunting.
Surviving is his fiancé and best friend, Rose Stayner; five lovely children, Kevin (Tammi) King, Greg (Tammy) King, Kyle (Jennifer) King, Tyler (Lauren) King, and Kelly (Charlie) Mallett; nine grandchildren, Clara, Erika, Zachary, MJ, Shayla, Anna, Nick, Kyle and Cara; eight great grandchildren, McKinley, Jameson, Eli, Hudson, Greyson, Daxton, Emma and Oliver; and a brother, T Ayln King.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Trent King; a sister, Jane Nelson; and grandson, Colton Levi.
Family and friends may call Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 11:00am till the time of the service at 1:00pm at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dresden Fire Department, 21 W 9th Street, Dresden, Ohio 43821
Bill will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden.
