Obituary

Rodney E. Bice, 77, of Coshocton, Ohio, formerly of Dresden, Ohio died Saturday morning, March 26, 2016 in the emergency room of Coshocton Memorial Hospital.
Born January 6, 1939 in Dresden he was a son of the late Jacob and Lucille (Randles) Bice and was a 1957 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mr. Bice was a millwright with Stone Container Company of Coshocton and retired after 35 years of service. Rodney loved the Lord, Jesus, and he loved his church. For many years he was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church of Dresden and recently became a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Coshocton. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and all types of sports. For several years he coached biddy league basketball. He also enjoyed woodworking. His greatest pleasure and enjoyment was being with his family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Mary M. (Cassady) Bice whom he married April 12, 1958; a son Mark Bice of Dresden; seven daughters, Tracey (Jerry) Olinger of Coshocton, Kelly (Kyle) Kanuckel of Bowling Green, Ohio, Christy (Dwaine) Scheetz of Fresno, Ohio, Mary (Tim) Beck of Coshocton, Leslie (Mark) Nelson of Warsaw, Ohio, Amy (Dane) Shryock of Coshocton and Betsy (Chad) Crossley of Coshocton; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two brothers, Louis (Terry) Bice of Dresden and William (Jackie) Bice of Zanesville; ; a sister in-law, Edie Bice of Dresden; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog "Mitzi".
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Bice and a sister Donna Easley.
Rodney's family would like to give a special thanks to Mary Ann Armstrong, for her love and spiritual support.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Following calling hours Christian Wake Services will be conducted, followed by the Rosary.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 405 Chestnut Street, Dresden, with Rev. Father Donald Franks officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
