Robert L. Spellman, 78, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Sunday morning, December 7, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark, Ohio.
Born June 9, 1936 in Black Run, Ohio he was a son of the late John and Bernice (Levingston) Spellman and was a 1954 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. He retired in 1995 from Rockwell International of Heath where he was a lift driver. Bob was a member of the Meadow View Church of Christ in Frazeysburg. He enjoyed NASCAR and Dirt Track racing, bowling, camping and woodworking.
Surviving is his wife, Elaine (Adkins) Spellman whom he married June 9, 1998; two sons, Jeffrey (Shirley) Spellman of Thornville, Ohio and David (Patty Simpson) Spellman of Granville, Ohio; two daughters, Sharon (John) Erickson of Perry, Georgia and Diane (Fred) Wolford of Frazeysburg; two step-sons, Daniel (Kim) Perry of Frazeysburg and David Perry, serving with the U. S. Marines in Hawaii; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a brother, William (Carol) Spellman of Coshocton, Ohio; a sister, Wilma Crawford of Coshocton and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lourine (Neal) Spellman who died October 31, 1997; and a son, Kevin Spellman who died October 30, 2010.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Meadow View Church of Christ, 6750 Raiders Road, Frazeysburg with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
