Robert L. "Bob" Wagner, 89, of Dresden, Ohio died Wednesday morning, October 17, 2018 at his home under the care of Genesis Hospice.

Born April 18, 1929 in Dresden he was a son of the late Everett and Helen (Sensibaugh) Wagner and was a 1948 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and he was a member of American Legion Post 399 of Dresden. He retired in 1991 from the Ohio Operating Engineers where he was a heavy equipment operator. He previously worked for Ohio Axle and Gear and the Bush Woolen Mill of Dresden. Bob loved hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and relaxing.

Surviving is a daughter, Robin Wagner of Dresden; a sister, Evelyn Somerville of Idaho and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Zola Jean (Wolford) Wagner whom he married January 20, 1962 and who died July 17, 2012 and four brothers, Eugene Wagner, Francis Wagner, George Wagner and William Wagner.

The family wishes to give a very special thanks to his care giver, Mary Dyson, and all the nurses of Genesis Hospice.

Calling hours will be 2pm to 5pm Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, October 22, 2018 at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
