Robert Kenneth Harris, 69 of Newark passed away unexpectedly Saturday August 21, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born January 22, 1952 in Newark to Arthur E. and Norma B. (Juniper) Harris.

He was a graduate of Licking Valley High School. Robert retired after 30 years at Rockwell International as the shipping manager, having worked at the Marysville and Heath facilities. He was a member of Local # 1037 UAW. He also was employed by Goodwill Industries.

Growing up he liked caring for animals and working in the family garden. He always enjoyed the outdoors. A favorite pastime was his coon dogs. He loved training and hunting with his dogs. He was a longtime member of the Licking Valley Coon Hunters Association. He also was a capable carpenter building many home projects.

He is survived by his daughter, Wendy S. McKee of Heath; grandchildren, Morgan Harris, Olivia McKee, Baylee Bishop, Bodie Bishop; great-grandson, Brycen Music; son, Robert Justin (Allegra) Harris of Utica; grandchildren, Kenneth Davenport, Alex Davenport; longtime partner, Tamara Boyer and family of Newark; sisters, Marlene (Jim) Hunt of Newark, Susan (Bill) Comisford, of Sunbury; brothers, Larry (Jean) Harris of Newark, Michael (Ginny) Harris of Norwalk, James (Barb) Harris of Alexandria, Thomas (Ora) Harris of Martinsburg; step-daughters, Stacy (Kenneth) McConnell, Amber Harris; step-grandchildren, Sierra, Alexis, Devon, Kyle Ankrom, Anastasia Whitney, Abbigail Whitney; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Gary Harris and Timothy Harris.

A celebration of life gathering for Robert will be held at a later date.
