Robert "June" Damron, Jr. 90, of Dresden, Ohio died Friday evening, December 14, 2018 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born February 10, 1928 in Adams, Kentucky he was a son of the late Robert Damron, Sr. and Nancy (Hayes) Damron. Mr. Damron proudly served our country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He retired in 1984 from Owens-Corning Fiberglass of Newark, Ohio where he was a forklift operator. He attended Dresden First Baptist Church. Robert was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and tending to his garden.

Surviving is his loving wife of 69 years, Harriet E. (Lacy) Damron whom he married September 24, 1949; one son, Ben (Peggy) Damron of Dresden; one daughter, Barbara Damron of Dresden; three grandchildren, Lori (Andy) Miller, Stacey (Doug) Buzard and Nic Damron and two great grandchildren, Shaye (Mitchell) Markley and Hannah Miller. Also surviving is one sister, Tennie Pack of Columbus, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Michael Buzard; one brother and five sisters.

Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Dresden First Baptist Church, 801 Chestnut Street with Pastor Joseph Offenberger officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
