Richard Franklin Robbins, 76, of Frazeysburg, died Friday evening, October 28, 2022 at his home.
Born November 9, 1945, he was a son of the late Catherine (Rushing) Brown and Russel Robbins. Richard worked at a greenhouse, Roseville Pottery, and National Oil & Gas, where he retired in 2010 after 40 years. He was the photographer for the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department for several years while also playing Santa Claus and being on the auxiliary. Richard spent many years as a member of the React CB Club, where everyone knew him as Hickory Nut. He enjoyed vacations, fishing, gardening, playing cards and playing in a softball league years ago.
Surviving are his children, Lisa Kling and Sean (Brandy) Robbins, both of Frazeysburg; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel, Emma, Jackie, Kristina, Kimberly, and Kendra; three great grandchildren, Mikel, Payton, and Clayton; a brother, Bob (Becky) Robbins of Philo; three nieces, Donna May, Karen, and Angie and three nephews, Donald, Dennis, and Bobby.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Edith Carol (Winland) Robbins, whom he married in June 25, 1967 and died December 25, 2017; a brother, Donald Robbins and a sister, Mary Kern.
Friends and family may call 10:00am till 12:00pm Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 W. Third Street.
A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm with Reverend John Kay officiating. Richard will be laid to rest beside his wife in Perryton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd, SE, Newark, Ohio.
