Richard "Rick" Bay Sr.

Richard “Rick” A. Bay Sr., 75 of Adams Mills, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20,2026 at Genesis Hospital Zanesville.

Born May 27, 1950, in Zanesville he was the son of the late Richard N. and Marion L. (Roach) Bay.

Rick was a 1968 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Rick spent his life working with his hands and taking pride in his craft. He was a talented block layer, spending several years with The Longaberger Company as a supervisor and director before building Bay Masonry alongside his son, something that meant a great deal to him, then later retired.

Rick attended Northgate Church in Dresden.

What mattered most to him though was family. He leaves behind his wife Ruby M. (Wyatt) Bay, whom he married September 10, 1971, and their 2 children Chad (Juliet) Bay and Shala (Andrew) Steinman. He was the proud grandpa/pappy to six grandchildren Jon (Arena) Bay, Ethan (Alyssa) Bay, Cassie Peterson, Ashton Bay, Kaden Bay and Summer Steinman; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings; John (Nancee) Bay, Joe (Jane Lorenz) Bay and Peggy (Scott) Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Wayne E. Bay.

A private family graveside service will be held at Irville Cemetery in Nashport.
