Obituary

Richard D. "Gomer" Pyles, Jr., 83 of Newark passed away on Saturday March 26, 2022 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born January 20, 1939 in Seebert, WVA to Richard D. and Glena M. (Starcher) Pyles, Sr.

He was a 1957 graduate of Webster Springs High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas as a Group Leader with 35 years of service. He was a member of the NRA and also Local # 244 GMP.

He enjoyed outdoor activities of fishing, hunting and gardening. He and his wife traveled extensively on their motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha L. (Johnson) Pyles; son, William (Joan) Pyles; granddaughter, Shay Parsley; great-granddaughter, Haley Kabbia, sister-in-law, Sharon (Jerry) Bentley; friends, Patty Kunkle, Dennis Smith and extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. Pyles, III.

In honor of his wishes, no services will be held at this time.
