A funeral service for Richard W. Hottinger, 85 of Newark will be held Wednesday April 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Wayt officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hottinger died Friday April 17, 2009 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born August 17, 1923 in Newark to the late Marion and Della (Grandstaff) Hottinger. Mr. Hottinger retired in 1983 with 40 years service from Owens Corning Fiberglas as a quality control inspector. He was a member of the O-C 25 year club and a member of Cox United Methodist Church. He is survived by his son, Scott D. (Cindy) Hottinger of Newark; sister-in-law, Mary Morrow of Heath; nephews, Dick (Sue) Morrow of Heath, Dave (JoRita) Morrow of Columbus. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann A. (Hively) Hottinger, who died June 12, 2004 and a brother, Bob Hottinger. Calling hours will be observed Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cox United Methodist Church Memorial Fund 50 S. 30th Street, Newark, Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
