Richard Lee "Fuzzy" Harding, 72, of Zanesville, Ohio died Monday morning, April 16, 2018 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Born March 1, 1946 in Zanesville, Ohio he was a son of the late James R. and Effie Ellen (Wolfe) Harding. He was a retired coal miner having worked for Peabody Coal Company and later, Sunny Hill Coal Company. He had also worked for Owens-Corning and both Merriam Roofing and Browns Roofing of Adamsville. Mr. Harding was member of the UMWA, the Eagles Lodge #302 of Zanesville, where he was a former trustee, and the American Legion Post #29 of Zanesville He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels, marbles and knives.
Surviving is one son Daniel (Clayton Reed) Harding of Zanesville; one daughter, Eyvette (Clem, Jr.) Dunlap of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Kara Dunlap and Kyle Dunlap; one brother, Terry (Janie) Harding of Nashport, Ohio; four sisters, Betty (Larry) Shanks of Zanesville, JoAnn (Doug) Joy of Blacksburg, South Carolina, Brenda (Craig) Foster and Barb Miller, both of Norwich, Ohio. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and his special "best friend", his dog, "Toby".
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Karen M. (Milstead) Harding whom he married August 20, 1965 and who died September 10, 2013; a sister, Diane Buchanan and a nephew, Rodney Buchanan.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held from 2pm to 4pm Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the American Legion Post #29, 27 South Third Street, Zanesville, Ohio.
