Richard "Dick" Allen Sarchet

Richard “Dick” Allen Sarchet, 90, of Nashport, Ohio passed away Monday afternoon, January 19, 2026 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.

Born May 13, 1935 in Louisville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Paul Nicholas and Elsie (Rastetter) Sarchet. Dick was a Catholic by faith and worked at Rockwell International for 31 years before retiring in 1986. Dick spent most of his life in the Frazeysburg area and made many friends over the years. He always enjoyed being outdoors. Dick loved to spend time with his wife, Deanna, especially while fishing and gambling.

Surviving is his daughter, Karen (Craig) Johnston of Frazeysburg; son, Jeff (Michelle) Sarchet of Johnstown; four grandchildren, Julian (Renae) Johnston, Chase (Brooke) Johnston, Jody (Kelsey) Sarchet, and Jared (Rachel) Sarchet; five great grandchildren, Dakota, Easton, and Jaxson Sarchet, Ava Johnston and Gavin Johnston; a sister, Sharon (Chris) Myers; sister in-law, Wilda Sarchet; special neighbors and friends, Larry and Brenda Marks; his loving dog, Izzy and several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Deanna (Wrhel) Sarchet whom he married March 24, 1957 and who died December 20, 2017; brothers, James “Jim” P. (Josephine) Sarchet and Walter “Sonny” C. Sarchet and a sister, Carol (Bob) Lupher.

Dick’s family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living and the wonderful nursing staff at Genesis Morrison House for all the wonder care and comfort they gave him.

There will be no calling hours.

Private family graveside services and burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
