Obituary

A funeral service for Richard D. ?Dick? Falcon, 96 of Buckeye Lake will be held Saturday March 26, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Mr. Falcon died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at his residence. He was born March 7, 1909 in Italy to the late Carlo and Maria P. (Ruggiero) Falcone. In addition one sister Frances Huff preceded him in death.His family moved to Columbus when he was 2 years old. He attended OSU. He was a professional photographer, champion body builder and a chef. He was a former owner of a gym in Columbus. He had written many magazine articles and enjoyed nature. Mr. Falcon served in the Army Air Force during WWII.He moved two years ago from Tampa, Fl. to live with his great niece and caretakers, Karen (Greg) Nierman and his great-great nephew, Jason Gleich of Buckeye Lake. Additional survivors include his sister, Mary (Kirman) Smith of Whitehall; three nieces, Barbara Gleich of Pickerington, Karen (Tom) Johnson of Pataskala, Sherry (Don) Davidson of Indiana and several great nieces and great nephews.Calling hours will be observed Saturday one hour before services at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street, Newark.
