DRESDEN – Reva M. McClure, 74, of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of Dresden, Ohio died Monday morning, December 13, 2010 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia after a brief illness.
Born June 5, 1936 in Madison Township of Muskingum County she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mildred (Lane) Spiker and was a 1954 graduate of Jefferson High School in Dresden. Mrs. McClure was a retired employee of the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Ohio in Zanesville. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Dresden Post #399, the Women of The Moose of Zanesville and L. S. M. R. 536 Shipmates.
Surviving are two sons, Robert "Bun" McClure of Dresden and Roger "Moose" (Kim Bice) McClure of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Stacy (Todd) Dirksen of Kemper, Mississippi, Jeremey (Carrie) McClure of Covington, Ohio, Sean McClure of Columbus, Ohio, Morgan (Zack Emerson) McClure, Chaz (Lindsay Anderson) McClure and Kalli McClure all of Zanesville; five great grandchildren; a sister in-law, Rita McClure of Zanesville; a special friend, Gene Tarleton of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. McClure whom she married February 18, 1956 and who died November 29, 2000.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8pm Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, December 17, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
