HEATH: A memorial service for Raymond "Ray" Pierce, 55 of Heath will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Robert L. Settlage officiating.

Mr. Pierce died Friday morning, October 5, 2012 at his home. He was born March 10, 1957 in Newark to the late Raymond and Betty (Cox) Pierce. He was the owner of Pierce Lawn Service. Mr. Pierce was active in Boy Scouts. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Diana L. (Hall) Pierce, whom he married November 27, 1982; three sons, Raymond Pierce of Columbus, Zackery Pierce of the home; Matthew (Amanda) Pierce of Thornville; a daughter, Makalyia Pierce of the home; brothers, Jim Pierce of Gratiot and Jeff Pierce of Heath; a sister, Lesile Pierce of New Lexington; step-sister, Karen (Roger) Agnew of Newark; grandchildren Luke and Landon; mother in-law, Beverly Nixon-Florence; sister in-law, Denna Hall, both of Newark; a brother in-law, Rob (Melissa) Hall of Johnstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Raymond Pierce Memorial Fund; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
