DRESDEN ? Raymond W. Gray, 84, of 2764 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, died at 9:35am Friday, December 19, 2003 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville. Born June 21, 1919 in Stillwater, Ohio, he was the son of the late James C. and Elizabeth (Shaw) Gray and was an Army veteran having received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart during World War II. He was a member of the Norval Park Church of Christ, the American Legion of Newark and the Zanesville Elks. Surviving are two sisters, Clara Mae Staugh of Newark and Maxine (Bryce) Williams of Trinway, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, two sisters, Frances O?Conner and Myrtle Burtscher, and a brother, Charles Gray preceded him in death. Calling hours will be two hours prior to the service, which will be at 1:00pm Monday, December 22, 2003 at Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Mr. Dallas Lockhart officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
