FRAZEYSBURG ? Raymond H. Frew, Sr., 72, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died at 8:37pm Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness. Born November 22, 1931 in Newark, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ross W. and Hazel (Jennings) Frew and was a 1950 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Mr. Frew was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U. S. Marines and was a member of Wakatomika Post 6193, VFW of Frazeysburg and the American Legion Post 399 of Dresden. He was also a member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church. He retired in 1986 as a machine and forklift operator at Rockwell International of Heath, Ohio and he owned and operated Frew?s Greenhouse and Produce of Frazeysburg for many years. Mr. Frew enjoyed baking pies and entering pie baking contest, many of which he won. Surviving is one son and daughter in-law, Raymond H. Frew, Jr. and his wife, Brenda of Frazeysburg; one grandson, Cullin Craig Frew; two brothers, Blaine W. Frew of Henderson, Nevada and Forrest A. (Rosealie) Frew of Nashport, Ohio; two sisters, Doris Hittle of Adamsville, Ohio and Lilyan (Donald) Minnick of Zanesville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anne (Byers) Frew, whom he married February 6, 1960 and who died March 25, 2000; one grandson, Jerad Ray Frew, who died June 12, 1998; and two brothers, John B. Frew and Ross E. Frew. Calling hours will be 6 to 9pm Saturday, September 4, 2004 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, September 5, 2004 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
