Ralph W. Romine, 99, of Dresden, Ohio died Wednesday evening, October 21, 2015 at The Oaks at Bethesda in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born September 19, 1916 in Muskingum County, he was a son of the late John W. and Mary Clarice (Scanlan) Romine and was a 1935 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Mr. Romine retired in 1983 from St. Regis Paper Company in Coshocton where he was a stationary engineer. He was a member of the Dresden Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are three sons, James A. (Lois) Romine of Frazeysburg, John Mark (Rachel) Romine of Coshocton and Donald (Kim) Romine of Dresden; a daughter, Irene (Carl) Schweitzer of West Lafayette; a sister, Vera Hendershot of Lakeland, Florida; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Esther M. (Dickerson) Romine whom he married October 1, 1938 and who died February 1, 2006; a son Frederick Edward Romine who died in 1994; four brothers, Kenneth, Donald, Leland and Lowell Romine and a sister, Ruth Graham.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 5pm Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday at the funeral home with Pastor James Chuvalas officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
