FRAZEYSBURG ? Funeral services for Ralph E. Lake, 80, a life-long resident of Toboso, Ohio, will be 1:30pm Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Jody Holland and Minister Chuck Horsely officiating. Burial will be in Old Stone Church Cemetery near Toboso. Mr. Lake died Monday morning, October 31, 2005 at Willow Haven Nursing Home, Zanesville, Ohio. Born October 7, 1925 in Toboso, he was the son of the late Robert and Grace (Lescalleet) Lake and was a 1943 graduate of Hanover High School. Mr. Lake was a Navy veteran serving in the Philippines during World War II and he retired in 1978 from the Holophane Company of Newark. He was a life-time member of Old Stone Church of Christ and served in many leadership roles at the church and was a member of the 25 Year Club of Holophane. Mr. Lake was also a farmer and enjoyed gardening and doing woodcraft work. Surviving are two daughters, Joyce (Charles) Brill of Zanesville, Ohio and Donna (Larry) Thompson of Newark; a son, Daniel Lake; a brother James (Mary Ruth) Lake of Toboso; a sister, Pauline (Clarence) Caughenbaugh of Toboso; six grandchildren, Jon (Stacy) Richardson of Frazeysburg, Jason (Erica) Richardson of Dresden, Ohio, Todd McCorkle of Granville, Ohio, Tina (Kyle) Williamson and Tera (Jim) Sentivany, both of Heath, Ohio and Ashleah Lake of Pennsylvania; and seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cleda M. (Cunningham) Lake, whom he married October 25, 1947 and who died June 26, 2005. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
