FRAZEYSBURG ? Ralph Crile Chaney, 76, of Newark, Ohio died Saturday morning, May 17, 2008 at his home. Born September 5, 1931 in Newark, Ohio he was the son of the late Clyde and Dorothy (Iden) Chaney and was a graduate of Newark High School. He attended Bliss College and he was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Chaney was a carpenter and locksmith at the Owens-Corning Technical Center at Granville and retired in 1994. He and his wife also operated Chaney Gardens at their home near Marne. He was a member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church, the Port Clinton Moose Lodge and the Owens-Corning Retirees Club. Mr. Chaney was an avid golfer and fisherman and he and his wife spent many summers at Lake Erie in Port Clinton, Ohio. Surviving is his wife, May V. (Gardiner) Chaney, whom he married July 11, 1953; one son, Wayne Chaney of Newark; two daughters, Robin (Steve) Ludinich of Frazeysburg and Debra Chaney of Newark; two granddaughters, Lindsay and Sarah Ludinich; and his two best friends, his dogs ?Rebel? and ?Bullet?. Calling hours will be from 6pm to 7pm Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Memorial service will be 7:30pm Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Belt officiating.
