Phyllis E. Minner, 81, of Dresden, Ohio died Wednesday morning, December 20, 2017 at The Oaks at Northpointe in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born May 5, 1936 in Zanesville, she was a daughter of the late John and Virginia (Frazier) Lacy, Sr. and was a 1954 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mrs. Minner was retired from the Village of Dresden where she was the Village Income Tax Clerk. She had also worked in the offices of Ross Insurance Agency, Newcome Insurance Agency and Rankin & Rankin Insurance Agency. Most recently she worked in the Guest Relations Department of the Longaberger Company. Phyllis was a member of the Dresden Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, the Women's Insurance Association of Muskingum County and was a former member of the Dresden Village Council.
Surviving is a daughter and son in-law, Vicki and Clark Watson of Frazeysburg; two granddaughters, Emily and Hannah Watson; a step granddaughter, Bethany Cain; a brother, Myron (Nancy) Lacy of Dresden; a sister in-law, Peg Lacy of Dresden, a brother in-law, Terry Minner of Dresden, a sister in-law, Sue Whiteus of Trinway, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert L. "Bob" Minner, whom she married November 19, 1961 and who died March 25, 2013; a brother, John Lacy, Jr., two sisters in-law Catherine Wiles and June Minner and a nephew, Rick Wiles.
Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
