A funeral service for Peggy A. Adkins, 74 of Newark will be 12 Noon, Thursday, December 23, 2021 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Garman officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be observed one hour before the service.

Mrs. Adkins passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born May 16, 1947 in Portsmouth, OH to Stephen and Delilah (Brown) Whitt.

A graduate of Portsmouth East High School; she served over 25 years as a Sunday school teacher at Christian Apostolic Church. She was a talented seamstress, enjoyed reading and crocheting. Mrs. Adkins was employed a number of years at a local State Farm Insurance office. Her favorite endeavor in life was caring for her family.

Survived by her husband of 53 years, Bobby W. Adkins; children, Anthony Adkins of Kimbolton, Tim (Amy) Adkins of Newark, Tania Greene & C.J. Johnson of Newark; grandchildren, Matthew Adkins of Kimbolton, Lindsey Adkins of Newark, Tyler Adkins of Blacklick, Brandon Adkins of Newark, Payton Adkins of Newark, Blake Greene of Newark; great-grandson, Bentley Adkins; sister, Rena Miller of Lucasville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Sendykar.
