Pauline V. Powers, 91, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday morning, January 9, 2014 at Autumn Health Care Center in Newark, Ohio.
Born September 22, 1922 in Princeton, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Nellie Gray (Hare) Baker. Mrs. Powers retired with 30 years of service with Ohio Natural Casing of Newark. She enjoyed doing cross-word puzzles, she was a great cook and she loved to dance.
Surviving are one daughter, Nellie Luther of Frazeysburg; one brother, Henry Baker of Newark; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Mary "Cookie" Ford of Newark.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl "Ed" Powers whom she married June 10, 1978 and who died November 3, 1988; a son Frank Messina; a granddaughter, Jackie Kay Luther; a grandson, Leo "Benny" Fadley; three brothers and five sisters.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Monday, January 13, 2013 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, January 14, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Mesnard officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
