Paul E. Moran, 98, of Frazeysburg, Ohio passed away Monday evening, November 11, 2019 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born September 26, 1921 in Frazeysburg he was a son of the late Carl and Hazel (Ashcraft) Moran and was a 1939 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Paul proudly served our country as a Staff Sergeant in United States Army Air Corp during World War II and he was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. For over 35 years he worked as a gauger with Buckeye Pipline/Ohio Oil Gatherings. He had also worked for the White Motor Company of Cleveland and Jack Newcome Construction Company. Paul was very active in the community having been a member of the Frazeysburg Village Council/Water Board and the Frazeysburg Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved working on his farm, hunting, cutting firewood and keeping his yard and garden in tip-top condition. His greatest loved was being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons and daughters in-law, Steve and Beverly Moran, of Frazeysburg, Richard and Cathy Moran of Conesville, Ohio and Robert and Linda Moran of Frazeysburg; seven grandchildren, Cari (Tye) Mohler, Tiffany (Nick) Hamilton, Amber (Mat) Lewis, Ashley (Wes) Miller, Angela (Brandon) Davis, Hillary (David) Hindel and Dean Moran; six great grandchildren , Jordan and Brandyn Mohler, Ava Hamilton, Grace Lewis, Zoey and Granger Hindel. Also surviving are three sisters, Kathrine (Jim) Jadwin of Zanesville, Barbara (Harley) Noland of Frazeysburg and Sandra (Roy) Noland of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 61 years, Geraldene (Cameron) Moran whom he married July 20, 1946 and who died April 8, 2007; a brother, Kenneth Moran and a sister, Mildred Gray.
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street and for one hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, November 15, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor John Kay officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Frazeysburg United Methodist Church or to Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.
