Obituary

Paul Robert ?Bob? Lacy, 83, of Dresden died at 10:29PM Wednesday October 26, 2005 at the Muskingum County Home where he had been a resident since April. Mr. Lacy was born September 6, 1922 in Dresden, a son of the late Richard and Mina Mae (Gilmore) Lacy. An Army veteran of WWII, he had served in the Philippines, Guam, Okinawa and Japan. He served as a deputy with the Muskingum County Sheriff?s Department from 1952-1985, retiring as a Lieutenant and had served as chief deputy. Following his retirement he helped operate the Scotties Den Restaurant in Dresden with his family. For 65 years he was a member of the Dresden Fire Dept, was a member of the F.O.P. and attended the First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn June (Smith) Lacy whom he married June 19, 1948; six children, Bobbie Conrad of Dresden, David Lacy of Dresden, Teresa (Robert) Grewell of Coshocton, Annette (Kelly) Boals of Coshocton, Kay (Tim) Agin of Dresden and Erin Lacy of Zanesville; one brother, Kenneth ?Bud? (June) Lacy of Dresden; two sisters, Lucille Starner of Newark and Betty (Junior) Roberts of Dresden; grandchildren, Clifford L. (Serena) Grewell, Sr. of Coshocton, Jeffrey (Terra) Grewell of Keene, April Boals of Coshocton, Adam Boals and fianc? Kristi Langdon of Coshocton, Jason Lacy of LasVegas, Nevada, Jamey Lacy of Dresden and Leigh Ann Conrad of Dresden; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hill, Adrianne Grewell, Paul Robert Grewell, Clifford L. Grewell, Jr., Kaley Mills and Levi Mills; two foster great grandchildren, Andrew Nicholas and Kaleb Nicholas; and a special friend of the family, Kim Keller. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ed, Dickie and Ernest Lacy; sisters, Pansy Fell, Dorothy Hammer, Kathleen Henery, Jane Noland and Mildred Dowell; an infant sister, Marie Lacy; and a great granddaughter, Kandace Boals-Hill. Friends may call 6-9 PM Friday October 28, 2005 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street, Dresden, where services will be held at 11AM Saturday with Dr. John J. Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
