Paul H. Johnson, 95, of Adamsville, Ohio died Wednesday evening, November 7, 2018 at The Oaks at Bethesda in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born November 20, 1922 in Obetz, Ohio he was a son of the late Albert and Alice (Mourie) Johnson and was a 1943 graduate of Hamilton Township High School. Mr. Johnson was a dairy farmer and a school bus driver at Adamsville School. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church and was a member of the church council. He was also a member of the Adamsville Volunteer Fire Department, a member and past president of the Adamsville Progressive Council. Some of his favorite activities were pitching horseshoes and playing euchre.
Surviving are two sons, P. D. Johnson of Zanesville and Ron (Gloria) Johnson of Orange Park, Florida; two daughters, Beckie (Skip) Yinger of Zanesville, and Jodi (Kelly) Ryan of Nashport; eight grandchildren, Terry (Laura Snyder) Johnson, Todd (Deb Levering) Johnson, Doug Yinger, Dusty (Cassandra) Yinger, Dawnielle (Wayne) Jacobson, Michelle Johnson, Chaz McClure and Kalli McClure; two step grandchildren, Cole (Amity) Ryan and Clay (Lindsay) Ryan; five great grandchildren, Cameron (Alyssa) Johnson, Jaden Johnson, Ashley Stewart, Corbin Ryan and Greyson Ryan and one great great granddaughter, Ella Johnson. Also surviving are two very special friends, Connie and Brian LeMaster of Adamsville and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Janet L. (Shoemaker) Johnson whom he married May 15, 1943 and who died January 14, 2013; a grandchild, Bailey Rae McClure; nine brothers, Walter Mourie, Charles, Clarence, Eddie, Bob, Roy, Wilbur, Harry and Emmett Johnson and five sisters, Mary Root, Margaret Kellermyre, Florence Peck, Stella Peck and Ruth Ball.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 6pm Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the New Hope Lutheran Church, 7025 Adamsville-Otsego Road, Adamsville, Ohio. Calling hours will also be for one hour prior to the services.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, November 12, 2018 at New Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Mary Molnar officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
