Obituary

Patrick Hugh Glaneman, 66, of Dresden, Ohio passed away Monday evening, February 29, 2016 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio following a sudden illness. His loving wife and family was at his side.
Born December 20, 1949 in Zanesville, Ohio he was a son of the late Ernest C. and Bonnie Jean (Tilton) Glaneman, I. Patrick proudly served our country during the Viet Nam War serving in the 82nd Army Airborne Division from 1968 to 1972, including 12 months service in Viet Nam. He was a retired truck driver having driven for many different companies over the years and was a member of the Teamsters Local 637. He was also a private pilot. Patrick enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, especially his driver, Jimmy Johnson and watching his grandchildren's sporting activities. His most cherished moments were when he was spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife and best friend, Judy (Thomas) Glaneman; two daughters, Devi (Dave) Gardner of Gahanna, Ohio and Jennifer (Michael) Giagonelli of Deltona, Florida; his step-children, Rodney (Michelle) Hindel, Roger (Tracie) Hindel, Rochelle (Terry) Berry and Gene (Jennie) Hindel all of Dresden; his grandchildren, Maddie, Jack, Bryce, Jason, Colton, Trent, Tate, Karter, Ellison, Kade and Quinton; his sisters, Kay Tyson of Zanesville, Laura Faye "Holly" Kyllo of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Juanita (Ralph) Burri of Brownsville, Ohio, Pamela Knapp of Campbellsburg, Kentucky and Lanita "Minnie" Bice of Zanesville. Also surviving is his mother in-law, Gladys Thomas of Conesville, Ohio; a sister in-law, Shirley (David) Best of Conesville; a brother in-law, Butch (Lynette Myers) Thomas of Tucson, Arizona and several special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including Davey Schneider and Herbert Campbell.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ernest C. "Stoney" Glaneman, II, William, Richard and Charles Glaneman; four brothers in-law, Rev. Richard Kyllo, Clata Tyson, William Knapp and Dale Bice and his father in-law, Raymond E. Thomas.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ricci Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #399.
