Patricia Louise (Swope) Prince, 90, of Dresden, died Friday evening, May 16, 2025, at Altercare Newark North.

Born March 2, 1935, in Nashport, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lester & Dorothy (Stump) Swope and a 1953 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. She was a member of Dresden United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and a member of the Greater Zanesville Singers.  Patty was a former 4-H advisor for the Dresden Merry Workers.  She was also a teacher aide at Jefferson Grade School for 7 years.  For 13 years she owned and operated the Dresden Pizza Prince where she enjoyed connecting with the community.  After selling the business to Dave Longaberger, she went to work in the shipping department at Longaberger where she retired in 2000.  Her greatest joys were watching her granddaughter's playing basketball, traveling with family and friends, and doing crafts.

Surviving are three children, Valerie (Mitch) Mitchell of Dresden, Candie Prince of Hebron, and Jeff Prince of Dresden; three grandchildren, Ashley Mitchell, Sara (Jermaine) Edgar, and Ali (Jesse) Bendure, five great grandchildren, Kennah, Londyn, and Autumn Edgar, and Zep and Lennon Bendure.  Several nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, Phyllis Morgan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley A. Nethers and the father of her children, William Prince.

The family would like to thank the staff at Altercare Newark North for taking care of Patty the last few months.

Family and friends may visit from 11:00am till the time of the service at 1:00pm, Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.

Patricia will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Ohio.
