Orpha I. Noland, 74, of Trinway, Ohio died Thursday morning December 15, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.
Born September 19, 1937 in Dresden, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Susie Irene (Scott) Melrose and was a 1955 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mrs. Noland was a member of the Dresden First Baptist Church and she enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is one son and daughter in-law, Larry and Diane Noland of Newark; one daughter and son in-law, Susie and Robert Ryan of Newark; eight grandchildren, Casey (Melissa) Hamilton, Seth (Stephanie) Noland, Ian Noland, Cody (Kaylee) Ryan, Drew Ryan, Cory Ryan, Lela Siafa and Chad Clapper; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Bice and Betty Wright, both of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Noland whom she married June 19, 1955 and who died October 5, 2007; three sisters, Marion Smith, Mary Lehman and Clara Wright and two brothers, William Melrose and Jerry Melrose.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Dresden First Baptist Church with her grandson, the Rev. Casey Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.
