Ola Ellen Grimes, 93, of Nashport, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, December 25, 2013 at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Zanesville.
Born December 16, 1920 in Frazeysburg, Ohio she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Bowers) Untied and was a homemaker.
Ola was also the owner and operator of Willie's Café and Welcome Inn of Zanesville during the 60's and 70's. She lived in Florida for a while and travelled back and forth to visit family and friends. She enjoyed working cross-word puzzles, playing cards and mostly, socializing. She loved her family to the fullest and spent many good times at cook-outs and family reunions.
Surviving are one son, Thomas Grimes of Florida; two daughters, Florence Barr of Nashport and Betty Martindale of Zanesville; a niece and nephew that she raised as her own, Mary Khun of Newark, Ohio and George Grimes of Zanesville; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; forty-one great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter and son in-law, Clarice and Harry Riley; a granddaughter, Teresa Huntsman; a grandson, Gene Riley; four brothers, James, Harvey, Henry and Benjamin Untied; her ex-husband, Willis Grimes and a very close companion, Donald Wood.
Calling hours will be from Noon to 2pm Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Mesnard officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
