After fighting a courageous battle with cancer, we are sad to announce the passing of our beloved son, husband, dad grandpa, brother and uncle. Norm lived his life to the fullest. He loved his family, horseshoes, his Allis-Chalmers and aunt Roma?s pecan pie.Norman E. Shepler, Jr., 45 of Newark died Sunday November 23, 2003 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Norm was born September 6, 1958 in Newark to Norman and Amy (Evans) Shepler, Sr. of Frazeysburg. He was a 1976 graduate of Licking Valley High School. He was a member of Local # 423 for over 25 years. For the past 13 years he has been employed by The Shelly Co.In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Maggie (Welsh) Shepler, whom he married April 30, 1977; three sons, Wes, Matt and Seth Shepler all of Newark; two grandsons, Levi and Eli; two brothers, Jim (Vicki) Shepler of Frazeysburg, Jeff (Marg) Shepler of Nashport; sister, Norma Ellen Hysell of Newark, mother-in-law, Jean Welsh of Newark; numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William & Agnes Shepler, Jay & Ethel Evans and father-in-law, Jack WelshServices will be held Wednesday November 26, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street Newark with Pastor Brian G. Dahlke officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
