FRAZEYSBURG ? Nora May Wolford Bayles, 90, of Newark, Ohio died Wednesday morning, January 7, 2009 at her home. Born August 13, 1918 in Frazeysburg, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Minnie May (Moran) Sheppard. She retired in 1977 from the Ohio Plastics Company of Frazeysburg where she had been employed for 19 years. Mrs. Bayles was a member of Buckeye Lake Eagles #2801 for over 35 years and she loved to square dance. She was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers. Surviving are two daughters, Elva (Merlin) Smith of Newark and Carol Matthews of Coshocton, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; six step children; one sister, Dorothey Wolford of Zanesville; a special friend and step-daughter, Jackie Bayles of Granville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry E. Wolford, whom she married April 6, 1935 and who died October 16, 1968; her second husband, Archie H. Bayles, whom she married October 3, 1977 and who died January 20, 1986; a son, Harold Wolford; five brothers; three sisters and a great grandchild. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Friday, January 9, 2009 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray Sunkel officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Frazeysburg Community Bible Church.
