Funeral services for Nel Caughenbaugh, 79 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2009 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Steven Brown officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Nel passed away Tuesday morning at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born April 19, 1929 in Union Station to the late Harold and Goldie (Laughery) Weekly. She was a 1947 graduate of Hebron High School. Nel loved her family, she enjoyed cooking and was an avid sports fan. Her favorite teams included the Ohio State Buckeyes and Lakewood Baseball. Survivors include daughters, Nancy (Rick) Andrews of Westerville, Sue (Randy) Latta of Columbia, Tenn.; sons, Tim (Marilyn) Caughenbaugh of Ft. Myers, Fla., Eric (Julie) Caughenbaugh of Marysville; grandchildren, Jeff Alexander, Jill (Mike) Buchl, Aimee (Kyle) Luna, Todd (Cindi) Latta, Lindsay (David) Scott, Ryan Caughenbaugh and his fianc?, Michelle Mendicino, Avery and Sage Caughenbaugh, Adam (Kelly) Rice, Jasmine Rice; great grandchildren, Tiffany Alexander, Blake and Bailee Luna, Acelin and Marley Scott, Xander and Logan Buchl, Ava Marie Latta; sisters, Jean Davis, Mary Lou (Frank) Teasdale, Shirley Smith; brothers, Harold (Mary Jo) Weekly and Paul (Lena Mae) Weekly. In addition to her parents, Nel was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Caughenbaugh, October 19, 2004; and a brother Jim Weekly.
